Trying to do an oribtal with monkey fists

I'm currently in love with orbitals, and ever since I've seen youtube kids doing them with fire poi, I've been trying to get this move rolling.

WHat is the best setup for doing an orbital with fire poi? I have ball chains and large monkey fists, and I'm wondering if that's going to make the move dificult. Are dogchains better for this move?

you mean a hyperloop? like a glowstringing orbital? ballchain is great, as every link acts as a swivel....the differnce between metal and fabric is that metal slides along itself, so you have to hold a frame with your arms, instead of pulling and letting them lock....you also need to add momentum if you want it to keep going, or you can just let it spin a couple times then come out....

    hope that helps

Hey Tank - I've found that an Orbital is a very specific type of hyperloop. You come into it as a wallplane airwrap, but halfway through you take one of your hands and pull it in front of the move (ie away from your body, to the front). You then add tension to the chains, causing a "snapping" feeling as the poi rotate around the chain nexus more quickly than most hyperloops. This is what allows all of the "around the head" type manipulations of the orbital. With an orbital, however, it is necessary to keep pulling the poi apart to prolong the move. For this reason, I feel twisted link is better, precisely because it can slide along itself.
Nick Woolsey has been doing a lot of these in his newer videos - major orbital action with big chunky wicks.
