Hyperloop THIS!

So over in the tech poi tribe we are discussing whether or not we should finalize a method for counting tangles.
All i'm asking you is;

If you can hyperloop,
do you prefer to enter with your left hand or your right hand from a forwards weave,
and what is your preference from reverse?
Also including whether you are right or left handed will help us as well.

as it stands we are deciding between three very similar(yet very different) ways of counting:
A) 0 +1 +2 cross sides +2 +1 0 +1 +2 cross sides +2 +1 0
B) 0 +1 +2 cross sides -2 -1 0 +1 +2 cross sides -2 -1 0
C) 0 +1 +2 cross sides +2 +1 0 -1 -2 cross sides -2 -1 0

any input you may have is very much appreciated!

Right handed. Going forwards, I prefer to enter from my right. Going reverse is equal from either side. As a bit of trivia, I've been working on orbitals for about the past two weeks, and can currently only nail them going reverse, entering from my left side.

The +1 -2 stuff has always escaped me.

im right handed so i prefer to enter from the right in forward and reverse, and i only started trying reverser from the left a few days ago. but going from the left forward is good too, but my most prefered hyperloop is forward from the right :D

I am left handed and when I learned tangels I made shure that i could do them all ways in all directions. But I have tried and tried to understand the +1 -1 and cant seem to wrap my head around it could some one please explain it to me!!!! I have watched vids and read posts and stil drawing a blank. Alien jon, Basil, Loki... someone please help me out
        Thanx much

I know it's confusing >_< Partly because different people have used plus and minus signs in different ways to tackle the same subject. What we all are getting at is twist.

Here is a link to Rev's Spherculist Manifesto:
          www.spherculism.net/phorum/index.php

In the first section he explains degrees of twist. I know the manifesto is a difficult read, but if you keep going back there is good stuff in there. More importantly, he has good video examples with it.
Here is the video showing degrees of twist at the wrist:
          www.spherculism.net/gallery/main.php

So what he is getting at is that "1 degree" of twist is 180 degrees of rotation aka half a turn. A good analogy is if you are holding onto a steering wheel, with your hands nice and level. By giving the wheel half a turn your arms will cross each other to a 1st-degree twisted position. 2nd degree is a full turn, like how much you twist your wrists to do a 5-beat weave... so on and so forth.

Your poi and your arms are basically the same thing when it comes to spinning, in fact wile you hold your poi and spin them, it is useful to feel them as an extension of your arms (this is useful on many levels). The big difference between your arms and your poi is this: bones! Arms can only twist so much. Poi can do a lot of twisting. This is part of the premise for Loki's tangle tutorial:
          www.youtube.com/watch

As Loki demonstrates, your arms crossed in a 1st-degree twist is the same as a 1st-degree tangle. By pulling your arms apart the nexus of twist moves from your arms down to the poi tethers and you get a tangle.

Moves that involve twisting and untwisting can be described in terms of the of transitions from 1 state to the next, and follow certain rules. a degree of twist is a state/position you get to and then transition from to another state. Moves we think of as "weaves", "inversions" or "hyperloops" can instead be thought of as patterns made up of a sequence of transitions from state to state.

Let me know how well you feel you understand my description of degrees and such, and then we can get into all this notation +1 -1 rigamaroll.

Ok.. I understand the 3 beat weave = +1, 0, -1 and so on and that is a whole new way of thinking about alot of different things. Now as for tangles he said very little but I think that I am starting to grasp the understanding. Now with a normal hyperloop from forward if I start on my right side my right hand is on top and starts the nexus then 2 swings inside then right hand is still on top and out . and that hyperloop if you do it one way and then go right back the way you came but with the left hand that is a 3 beat weave right? same with the buzzsaw inversion (with out the half iso) is that right or am I way off? As for the tangle being a + or - that is all relevant to the person and the side they add a twist or untwist, right?

Ok Jon this is as far as my mind has wraped around this. I am ready for more
