Re: HI DO ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO DO THIS
Mon, August 17, 2009 - 10:16 AMYeah there is nothing advanced in the movement technique of the performance it's just the material used that makes it very extravagant. There should be plenty of us that know how to spin like this. I do see two staff users and maybe 3 others using poi. I totally forgot what the material used for the fire is called but shouldn't be hard to figure that out :) -

Tue, August 18, 2009 - 8:18 AMWhat's odd to me is it almost seems like whatever is burning, they're standing in it. The big sparks seem to only happen when the tools touch the ground.

Re: HI DO ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO DO THIS
Tue, August 18, 2009 - 1:34 PMLooks like there is some titanium powder mixed in there. That would make the sparks on contact. -

Re: HI DO ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO DO THIS
Tue, August 18, 2009 - 2:11 PMCould be a little bit of everything. Iron, Ti and Mg in special cage poi maybe. Could be a good smattering on the floor, but with a small enough cage, steel wool would require impact to release. -

Thu, August 20, 2009 - 4:16 PMcinder circus I think did something like that. I think that its just steel wool that was soaked and not spun off before burning.

Re: HI DO ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO DO THIS
Thu, September 10, 2009 - 1:21 PMEh,
I think they are just ember tools, the sparks look too floaty to be metal powders. Burn wood, scoop glowing coals into caged spinny tool, go nuts. They burn harder the more you spin, and make floaty sparks when you make impact... word.
