Re: Poi in the news(video)
Sat, June 28, 2008 - 1:37 PMNice, to see some actual fire talent in the news. ;-P I noticed the same guy interviews Cindy and Carter out at the Boulder Circus Center too... brings me back.
BTW Michael, did you com up with that geodesic-esque frame in the background yourself, or do you know Rock Ridgeway?? -

Re: Poi in the news(video)
Sat, June 28, 2008 - 5:20 PMYeah he did do some circus center stuff and he also did a slacklining video a few months ago of me.
The structure is called the star plate system, it is essentially a icosahedron without the bottom points. That specific one is more permanent and uses bolts and stuff, however I have made a pop up version that is totally awesome. I essentially made these geometric legos. I have been making all the platonics in large form using eyebolts in the end if 2by2's. I even made some pyramids.!!!
I dont know Rock Ridgeway.

Re: Poi in the news(video)
Sat, June 28, 2008 - 5:55 PMMost of the tents Crystal Stix teaches and sells stix out of at festivals for the past few decades use that as a frame. Rock Ridgeway designs the tents. He also designs tensegrity tents. He's quite into Bucky Fuller.
Have you ever talked with Andy House about Platonic solids?
